Ethical Journalism
A series of standards The Insider Look applies to all work we do:
To take into account all aspects and perspectives of an issue and report unbiased news.
To use, to the best of our ability, the objective fact instead of subjective opinion.
To not accept financial rewards in order to twist a narrative of a story.
To avoid and declare all conflicts of interest when doing an investigation or news story.
To deal in good faith and follow all laws pertaining to the issue that is being covered.
To properly credit all our sources used in a way that is transparent, bar the tips.
To respect the privacy of individuals requesting confidentiality when submitting tips or stories.
To honor all off-the-record and confidential communications as requested by individuals and organizations if need be.
This is a simplified and short-form of our ethical guidelines in journalism, while the extended version is available to our staff members.
